Welcome Home Housing offers long-term, shared housing and independent living support for adults living with mental health diagnoses. Residents receive a stable place to live, a positive community, a sober-living environment, and the chance to strengthen independent living skills.
Our Homes
We currently manage five homes in the Sacramento area:
· Women-only homes (Rosemont area, near Watt Ave & Folsom Blvd)
· Men-only homes (Rosemont area, near Watt Ave & Folsom Blvd)
· A co-ed home in Rancho Cordova
Homes typically serve 4 to 6 residents and are located within walking distance of light rail or bus lines.
Most residents have a private room, though shared rooms may be available depending on the home and current openings.
What’s Included
Program fees include the basics that make day-to-day life easier, including housing, basic groceries, utilities, Wi-Fi, furnishings, linens, and program services.
Support That Helps You Thrive
Residents can expect practical, respectful support focused on building stability and everyday skills:
· Help learning to plan weekly meals, build a shopping list, and shop within a budget
· Cooking mentors/coaches when needed
· Life skills support (cleaning routines, social skills, and more)
· A Mental Health Worker who supports weekly planning, shopping/budgeting, and problem-solving
· Advocacy with doctors, social workers, and other providers when needed
· Community activities
Community Living (What It’s Like)
Welcome Home Housing is a sober and cooperative living environment centered on stability, well-being, and mutual respect. Residents are part of a shared household and are expected to:
· Participate in cooking and cleaning (with mentors available if you’re learning)
· Attend mandatory weekly house meetings to coordinate meals, chores, and house
· Help maintain a home environment that is secure, healthy, and drug- and alcohol-free
· Take responsibility for personal choices, respectful communication, and help keep shared spaces clean and comfortable for everyone.
Basic Eligibility
Residents must be able to live in a shared home with minimal on-site support and meet these requirements:
· Have a diagnosed mental illness
· Be compliant with psychiatric treatment
· Be able to manage and take medications independently as prescribed
· Be substance-free, including alcohol and cannabis (a period of sobriety is required)
· Sign and agree to follow the Program Expectation and House Rules Agreement
